Persistent (hormonal?) acne never goes away!!! Anyone try anything that WORKS?

I'm SO frusterated. I've had acne since I was 12 and was told that it will 'eventually go away once my hormones settle down.' Well, I'm almost 24 and it's worse than ever. It makes me feel ugly all the time and I'm embararassed for my boyfriend to see me without makeup on. I also have it on my chest and back and under my jawline. I have good skin hygiene and I've tried almost all acne remedies available, including the oral antibiotics and prescription creams. It makes me sad, I want to feel sexy sometimes but I NEVER can EVER and I have no control over it. Any suggestions of what to do? :(
