Why is my cockatiel not happy?

i bought him 5 days ago because he looked so happy in the pet shop..he was the only one active and he was singing and dancing around so i got him..so after his been here in my house he hasnt singed or really talked. he lets me scratch his head and he eats from my hand and finger tips.
