My nails are ruined!! Thanks to gel nails...?

My friend decided to put glitter gel nails on my fingernails even though they're only for toenails. She failed to mention that they ruin your nails when you take them off. So I removed them after wearing them for only a few days because I have to take them off for work, and lovely long nails which I had had before these stupid gel nails were put on are so weak and brittle, bits of the nail stripped off and so they're all bumpy. I had to cut them all so now they're little stumps. And I have my prom in 2 weeks and I was planning on having a manicure :(:( So, will my nails be okay for prom? What can I do to heal them? They're sore and look disgusting! :(:(
